Hypnosis

What is hypnosis?

“Hypnosis” means a state of altered awareness in which you can access the sub-conscious mind while the conscious mind also remains active. During the sleep state we are not aware of what is happening around us but in a “hypnotic” state, the conscious mind is fully aware of what is going on and simultaneously provides access to our sub-conscious mind bypassing the critical filter. A series of instructions and scripts are used to bring in this state of hypnosis.

All of us go into a hypnotic state several times in a day, without actually being aware of it. Those few minutes just before drifting to sleep or right after waking up while you are still in bed or a deep state of concentration when you are lost reading a book or watching TV etc are similar to what a hypnotic state would be!
Hypnotherapy is gaining popularity and being widely used by itself or in conjunction with other alternative modalities to overcome issues related to relationships, personality, finances, career, health and many more!

Hypnotherapy is completely safe. You are actually in a deep state of concentration and relaxation and you will be in control all the time. You may come out of the state any moment, if you are uncomfortable and choose to do so. You simply follow the suggestions/instructions of the hypnotherapist during the session.

What is hypnosis NOT?

  • Mind control – you don’t lose your control
  • Unconsciousness – you have focused attention
  • Sleep like in the night – I use relaxation, not sleep, to enter hypnosis
  • Hypnosis is not being unconscious – you can hear everything that goes on around you during the trance, you’re just not interested in it
  • Brain washing

Most importantly, you don’t get stuck in hypnosis!
